Minnesota State Patrol Responds to Three Fatal Crashes Friday and Saturday

Undated (MinnesotaNow)- The first weekend of October got off to a deadly start on Minnesota's roads. 

The State Patrol responded to three fatal crashes from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Two of the fatalities involved two vehicles. 

Alcohol was not suspected in any of the three fatal crashes, according to the State Patrol. 

The first deadly crash was reported around shortly after 1:15 Friday afternoon in southern Minnesota. 

77-year-old Margo Ann Brown of Saint Peter died in a collision northeast of her hometown at an intersection along Hwy. 22. The state crash report indicates an SUV ran a stop sign and struck her vehicle.

74-year-old Valeria Marylou Thompson of Nicollet was identified as the other driver. The State Patrol says she was brought to a Mayo Clinic hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

An unbuckled driver was the victim of Friday’s second deadly crash. 

The State Patrol says a pickup was traveling east on Hwy. 210 in Brainerd when the driver crossed the center lane into the oncoming lane and struck light poles and parked vehicles near 7th St. NW. 

55-year-old James Lonn Davis of Baxter was identified as the driver. The state crash report says he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Saturday’s fatality happened in the western Twin Cities. 

A car traveling west on Hwy. 55 collided with a pickup that was making a left turn from southbound County Rd. 116 to eastbound Hwy. 55 in Medina. 

68-year-old George Michael Ehman of Cape Coral, FL was identified as the pickup driver. He was pronounced dead at the scene and was not buckled up, according to the State Patrol. 

75-year-old Randall Thomas Lofgren was driving the car and 29-year-old Anthony Deandre Clarke was riding with him. The state crash report says both Plymouth men were taken to North Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
