Loudoun County elementary school teacher charged with hitting student
An elementary school teacher allegedly hit a student in Loudoun County on Thursday.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said in a Friday news release that 49-year-old Valerie Bowen, a resident of Ashburn and a teacher at Horizon Elementary School, located at 46665 Broadmore Dr., reportedly assaulted a student.
A school resource officer was informed of the alleged assault, prompting an investigation into the altercation.
Bowen was issued a summons and charged with assault and battery. She is expected to appear in court.
