Jharkhand woman still in detention centre despite court order. Now HC asks, ‘under what law?’

In 2025, the woman, after allegedly being sexually assaulted multiple times by a constable, escaped from the centre with two other detainees. Though a trial court convicted her in the escape case, she was acquitted of the charge under the Foreigners ActA Jamtara woman, then in her early 20s, was arrested in an alleged child kidnapping case in 2018.
