Giant Anaconda Attacks Moving Bakkie on South African Dirt Road in A Viral Video Footage

Many people are wondering how the enormous green anaconda got into South Africa after seeing a video of it striking a bakkie on a rural dirt road. The sight has shocked internet users.

Shortly after its 30 September 2026 upload, the video went viral after being posted on the South African snake-catching page Slangboere.

It looks like the footage was shot using a dashcam-style camera while the vehicle was in motion. As it rolls along a dusty road, a pickup vehicle zips past a huge serpent curled up by the roadside.

The massive serpent darts at the bakkie as it zips by.

Many commentors were shocked to see what seemed like a green anaconda in a South African environment, and many took to the comments area to express their shock at the sudden movement.

The clip shows what appears to be a green anaconda, a very large and powerful snake species, according to Slangboere.

In response to concerns regarding the video’s veracity, the snake-catching page said categorically that it was not created using AI.

Slangboere noted that the snake’s aggressive conduct towards the bakkie could be a result of the animal feeling intimidated, which may seem strange at first.

A snake might not be able to identify a car the same way an individual can. A defensive reaction could be triggered if it perceives a huge item approaching from behind.

Big snakes that are native to South Africa can be treated in the same way. Because of the apparent threat, a snake may respond defensively if a car were to pass very near to it.

A green anaconda’s unexpected appearance on a rural road in South Africa was one of the most intriguing aspects of the film.

South Africa does not have green anacondas native to it. Originating in South America, this species is most commonly seen in humid and tropical climates.

The specifics of the snake’s appearance remain unknown because the film did not specify where the footage was shot.

There was no official word on where the animal came from, but several social media users speculated that it might have been a stray or unreleased animal.

The specifics of the snake’s appearance cannot be determined without knowing the location of the recording or the means by which it got there.

South Africans were shocked, confused, and amused by the strange occurrence.

Curious about the snake’s apparent reversal in direction, one social media user wondered when it had turned around.

One person joked that the creature might have been a “escapee from AI,” while another pondered the possibility that it was a runaway pet.

While some remarked on the peculiar landscape, others made light of it, with one joker comparing the road to a giraffe.

People were making fun of the cameraman and the peculiar conditions seen in the footage as well.

A huge non-native snake was spotted on a road in South Africa, which, despite the laughs, makes one wonder about the risks of keeping exotic animals in captivity and what happens if they get out.

The robust muscular bodies of green anacondas put them among the biggest snakes in the planet in terms of total body mass.

From what we can tell, no one was hurt in the collision, even though the video shows the animal responding to the passing car.

Regardless, the video sent shockwaves through South Africans and piqued their interest in the enigmatic serpent.

How the green anaconda got onto the South African dirt road is an open topic until more details regarding the sighting’s location and circumstances are revealed.
