“A tragic accident,” Wisconsin 3-year-old dies after being struck by mother’s car

WATTERSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Wisconsin (KCRG) – The Grant County Sheriff’s office is investigating what is being called a “tragic accident” after a mother struck and killed her 3-year-old son in their driveway.

Boscobel EMS was dispatched to the home address Saturday afternoon.

The investigation indicates the mother was returning home when her son ran to greet her. The mother asked the boy to clear the way so she could safely park. The mother saw her son turn away and run to the house but didn’t see him return, that’s when he was struck by the vehicle’s front tire.

The family drove the boy to Emplify Hospital in Boscobel but he ultimately died from his injuries.

In a statement, the Sheriff’s Office calls the situation a “tragic accident.” Court records do not indicate any charges have been pressed against the mother.
