Todayโs Headlines: Tinubu presidency is choice of death โ Amaechi, Trump says he did not ‘jump the gun’ on South Korea Alaska LNG investment announcement
Rotimi Amaechi, serving as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential running mate to Atiku Abubakar, described continued support for President Bola Tinubuโs leadership into 2027 as a โchoice of death.โ Speaking in an interview on Channels Televisionโs Politics Today, he argued that Nigerians effectively face only one real optionโto choose lifeโbecause the current administrationโs policies have inflicted severe hardship.Amaechi pointed to concrete examples of economic pressure, including transport costs that consume most of a workerโs monthly pay, rents that have risen sharply (in some cases by 100โ300 percent), and taxes that significantly reduce take-home income even after the minimum wage increase to โฆ70,000. He also referenced the rising cost of medicines and claimed that some people have died because they could no longer afford essential drugs.
Oct 2 (Reuters) – US President Donald Trump said on Friday he did not “jump the gun” on announcing a South Korean investment in Alaska LNG, a liquefied natural gas project that has been planned for decades but still lacks binding commitments.
Trump โunveiled plans on Wednesday for South Korea to invest $200 billion in US projects, โbut Seoul quickly suggested one key element, a $54 billion pipeline for a long-planned โ LNG project in Alaska, was not yet set in stone.
“I didn’t jump the gun. โI mean, they were there and they were represented. And let’s see, if they don’t want โto do it, that’s okay with me. I’ll just charge them more,” he told reporters at the White House.
Trump also said on Friday that the US trade deal with South Korea includes $8.4 billion for a โproject to push out crude from an aging oilfield, although state-supported Yonhap news agency reported โthat an official from Seoul’s industry ministry was surprised by the claim.

The clarification was contained in a rejoinder issued by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Adebayo Haroun, on Friday concerning charge number ID/22014C/23.
Haroun said the defendants were charged under Sections 299 and 297(2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, following allegations that they were among a group that robbed a man of his phone and gold chain.
The clarification followed an online report alleging that the defendants had been kept in custody over a pair of slippers allegedly similar to those belonging to the nominal complainant.
