The Hotel Bills For My Movie Alone Can Shoot Another Full Movie – LilWin Claims

According to a report by The BBC Ghana today being Saturday, October 3, 2026, Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah LilWin has disclosed that the amount of money spent on hotel accommodation during the production of his movie A Journey to Africa was so significant that it could have been used to finance an entire movie.

LilWin made the revelation while discussing the scale of the film project and the financial commitments involved in bringing the production together. According to the actor, accommodation was one of the major expenses the production team had to deal with throughout the project.

He explained that the cost of putting cast members and other people involved in the production in hotels was extremely high. LilWin suggested that the total amount spent on accommodation alone was substantial enough to make people question how much money was invested in the movie.

The filmmaker further indicated that many Ghanaians might find it difficult to believe the actual figure if he decided to publicly disclose how much was spent on hotel bills.

His comments were intended to highlight the financial demands associated with producing a large-scale movie such as A Journey to Africa. Beyond the cost of accommodation, the production would also require spending on transportation, feeding, equipment, locations, crew members and other logistical arrangements.

LilWin has previously spoken about his ambition to produce projects that can attract attention beyond Ghana, and A Journey to Africa has involved actors and personalities from both Ghana and Nigeria.

The latest revelation therefore offers an insight into some of the expenses that may not be immediately visible to audiences when they watch a movie.

According to LilWin, the hotel bills alone demonstrate the level of financial commitment that went into the project. While he did not disclose the exact amount in the statement provided, he maintained that revealing the figure could surprise many people.

His comments have since drawn attention to the often-overlooked costs involved in film production and the substantial investment required to complete major movie projects.
