Six Counties to Receive Heavy Rainfall on Saturday Evening

Most of the country will be dry on Saturday, October 3, 2026, but six counties should expect light showers while strong winds blow across parts of the north, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department.

Mombasa, Lamu, Kwale, Siaya, Nyamira and Marsabit are the counties expected to record light rain.

Along the Coast, showers are forecast over a few places in Mombasa, Kwale and Lamu in the morning before sunny conditions return in the afternoon.

Temperatures in Mombasa and Lamu will reach 30°C, while Kwale will peak at 29°C.

Kilifi, Tana River and Taita Taveta will stay largely dry after cloudy mornings.

Siaya and Nyamira may see light showers at night, giving way to sunshine by daybreak.

Trans Nzoia will be sunny in the morning, but light showers and thunderstorms are possible over a few places in the afternoon.

Kisumu and Kakamega, which received rainfall in the previous 24 hours, are expected to remain dry with sunny intervals.

The department has also warned of strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots over parts of Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit and Isiolo.

Marsabit will have light rain over a few places, particularly Moyale, in the morning, and temperatures will range between 16°C and 27°C.

Turkana and Mandera will record the highest temperatures in the country at 37°C.

Nairobi and the central highlands, including Kiambu, Nyeri, Murang’a and Kirinyaga, will have partly cloudy nights followed by sunshine through the day.

Nairobi temperatures will range from 14°C to 28°C, with sunrise at 6:18am and sunset at 6:25pm.

Nyandarua will record the lowest night temperature in the country at 9°C.
