Petrol relief scheme benefits more than 7.5m citizens

More than 7.5 million citizens have benefited from the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme since its launch on September 15,

According to the Ministry of IT, the scheme has entered its third week, with more than 8.4 million people registered so far, the ministry said in its latest figures.

More than 12.2 million fuel tokens have been issued under the scheme, while over 10.3 million tokens have been used. The token usage rate stands at 84.4 per cent, according to the ministry.

The scheme is continuing across the country, with a 24-hour call centre available to provide immediate assistance and guidance to citizens and petrol pump owners.
