Kenyans Receives A Morning Shócker After Bad News Emerge From UK About Oburu’s Health Condition

ODM Party leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga has temporarily stepped away from active political engagements as he continues receiving medical care in the United Kingdom.

Oburu traveled to the UK following medical advice and consultations with the party leadership to undergo further medical assessments and allow himself adequate time to rest and recover.

The veteran politician has since kept a low profile politically as doctors monitor his condition and determine when he will be fit to return to Kenya. His family says his health has improved, although he remains in the UK for continued medical evaluation.

His absence comes at a significant period for ODM, with the party involved in political consultations and preparations for the 2027 General Election. Before leaving the country, Oburu assured party members that ODM had sufficient structures to operate effectively in his absence.

He pointed to Deputy Party Leaders Paul Simba Arati and Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, together with the National Central Committee and party secretariat, as key structures responsible for keeping the party running. Consequently, the ODM leadership has taken over day-to-day political duties while Oburu focuses on his treatment and recovery.
