The Lowe family confirmed on Tuesday that Fiona had died, expressing that they were ‘deeply heartbroken’.
Their statement also included crisis hotline details, and the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner later confirmed her manner of death to be suicide.
As well as Fiona, Chad and his wife, producer Kim Painter, have daughters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10, with the eldest speaking out this evening after a devastating week.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a series of personal snaps of Fiona, which highlighted their close relationship.
The pictures included one of Mabel and Fiona playing in the sand on holiday, while another showed Fiona posing in her ballet attire.
Mabel’s caption read: ‘I love you so much fiona ❤️ i wish your short time here was easier and i hope your mind is at ease now.
‘I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much.’
Her comments section was soon filled with messages of support and condolence, including from actress Billie Lourd, who left three red hearts.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor David Boreanaz also wrote, ‘Lovely❤️ two peas in a pod forever 🙏🏻🦅’, having also shared his own tribute earlier in the week.
Alongside a photo with the Lowe family, he penned: ‘My Deepest condolences to my friends Chad and Kim with the loss of their beautiful soul, Fiona.
‘May she be surrounded in light and dance in heaven with all the angels. If you or someone you know is experiencing such difficulties, you can contact the lifeline by calling or texting 988🙏🏻’
When announcing that Fiona had died, Pretty Little Liars star Chad and his family described her as a ‘loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance’.
‘She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,’ they added. ‘In fact, she was the light of our lives.
‘Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.’
Chad’s father, Charles ‘Chuck’ Lowe, posted a photo the following day, showing Fiona smiling at the camera while swimming.
‘Rest in peace sweet Fiona,’ he wrote in the caption.
Kendra Andrews, Fiona’s dance teacher, wrote alongside some rehearsal footage: ‘We will never be the same without you here.’
Fiona was pronounced dead in hospital at 1.14am on September 29, with her body now released to her family.
She would have turned 14 in November, with Chad, 58, posting for her milestone last year: ‘Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!’
Chad also previously shared affectionately that being his daughters’ dad is the ‘greatest joy and privilege’.
Appearing on the Still Here podcast in 2024, the 9-1-1: Lone Star actor said: ‘I’m a girl dad. It’s so interesting because [I’m] always wanting to have my own experiences and not live in the shadow or follow in the footsteps of somebody. I get the experience of being a girl dad.
‘I feel like having daughters is such an incredible privilege.’
He continued: ‘I know that there are struggles.
‘And now it’s taken what I’ve known intellectually, and it’s put it in my heart because I now have three daughters. And so, I look at the world from really their perspective, and I see the world and a lot of the injustices in the world from their perspective.’
After their lives were uprooted as a result of the Pacific Palisades wildfires last February, Chad stated that ‘helping them navigate these tough times is [his] sole purpose’.
In January, he reflected on the ‘catastrophe’, sharing images of the ruins left behind of what was once their loving home 12 months on.
‘Losing everything I ever owned and the home we raised our family in is still deeply painful to this day,’ he penned, adding that he was ‘incredibly proud’ of his wife and daughters for making ‘the absolute best of this extraordinarily difficult circumstance’.
Chad, who won an Emmy for his supporting role in Life Goes On, is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, 62.
His relatives are understood to be supporting him as he grieves, with a source telling People: ‘Rob and Chad are very close. Their family and friends have rallied around Chad and Kim.
‘Everyone’s heartbroken. They already went through so much with losing their home last year.
