Shocking evidence at Sibiya bail hearing

JOHANNESBURG – Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya is back in court on Friday as his bail hearing continues.

On Thursday, a stunned courtroom heard revelations about Sibiya’s alleged inappropriate conversations and requests to a minor.

The alleged conversation between Sibiya and the minor contains graphic details.

Sibiya allegedly had an inappropriate video of a 16-year-old girl – and requested more.

An explosive phone recording was also presented to court, in it, Sibiya’s close associate Bishop Azwihangwi Maumela can be heard telling the father of the 16-year-old girl Sibiya allegedly sexually groomed to convince the 18-year-old who opened a rape case against him to drop it.

Sibiya’s son Ofentse Magwenya told the court that the family never asked Maumela to intimidate or speak to witnesses.
