PFA seals juice plant, renowned pizza restaurant
LAHORE – An enforcement team of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed a juice and beverages plant and a renowned pizza restaurant, while imposing fines totaling Rs426,000 on 25 food businesses during an anti-adulteration operation across different areas of Lahore. Operation was conducted under the directions of Director General Punjab Food Authority Raja Mansoor Ahmad.
Food safety teams raided 27 food units and discarded expired milk intended for children, China salt and fungus infested lemons. Production at the units was halted for violations of food safety regulations.
The DG said that on-the-spot testing of the ingredients declared on the juice label failed to meet the required standards.
He has requested the public to support the PFA in eliminating the adulteration mafia and report to the PFA on its 1223 helpline number in case of any complaints.
