“Not Even a Village Elder”: Ruto Breaks Silence and Reveals Details About His Biological Father

President William Ruto has reflected on his journey from a modest background to becoming Kenya’s Head of State, saying his rise to the presidency was not something many would have expected.

Ruto made the remarks as he spoke about his family background and the journey that eventually took him to the highest office in the country.

He recalled his father, Daniel Ruto, and said he did not hold a senior position in the community. Ruto used the story to explain how his own political journey developed over the years.

The President has often spoken about his humble beginnings, including growing up in a rural setting before entering politics. His political career started in the 1990s and later saw him serve as an MP, Cabinet minister, Deputy President and eventually President.

Ruto became Kenya’s fifth President after winning the 2022 General Election. He was sworn into office on September 13, 2022.

His latest remarks come at a time when his administration is highlighting development programmes across the country. On Friday, October 2, Ruto was in Mombasa, where he issued title deeds to residents from several settlement schemes.

During the event, he also addressed concerns over land ownership at the Coast and said his government would protect residents facing possible displacement.

The President has also been using his recent public appearances to discuss his administration’s plans and the political situation ahead of the 2027 General Election.

On the same day, Ruto appealed to supporters of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to avoid political fights and work together.

Ruto’s story about his family background therefore comes as he continues to speak about his political journey and the country’s future.

His rise from a rural background to the presidency remains a major part of the personal story he has shared throughout his political career.

The President’s remarks also serve as a reminder of the long political journey that brought him to State House in 2022.
