Naqvi calls for comprehensive strategy to increase Pakistan’s exports
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stressed the need to expand Pakistan’s exports, saying stronger export growth is essential for improving the national economy and addressing economic challenges.
Speaking at a ceremony hosted by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Naqvi congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and members. He said Pakistan needed a practical and comprehensive strategy to raise exports across different sectors.

Referring to his recent visits to Iran, the minister said he had observed domestic production in sectors such as construction and automobiles despite the economic challenges faced by the country. He questioned why Pakistan could not similarly strengthen local manufacturing and increase its export capacity.
Naqvi urged Pakistan to learn from the experiences of other countries and develop concrete measures to expand production and exports. He also assured the Lahore business community that he would work to address issues faced by traders and remain available to assist them.

The minister said the government had been working on a proposed business passport for several months and had contacted relevant embassies over visa-related difficulties faced by Pakistani traders. He expressed hope that the proposal would soon be submitted to the prime minister and help facilitate international business travel.
Naqvi also said the country was moving towards what he described as a reset of its system, adding that cooperation from the business community and the public would be important for the process.
