” My In-laws Took My Kids After My Wife Died, Said I Was Useless ” Devastated Kenyan Teacher Cries

A Kenyan high school teacher has shared the painful story of losing his wife in a road accident and later being separated from their two young daughters.

The teacher, who chose not to reveal his name, said his marriage had already faced problems because of tension with his wife’s wealthy family. According to him, his wife’s sisters had moved to the United States and began encouraging her to leave him, saying he was holding her back.

The family was reportedly helping his wife prepare documents to travel to the US. However, the teacher said he did not know that she was travelling to Nairobi for an interview at the US embassy.

While on her way to the interview last year, she was involved in a road accident and died at the scene.

After her death, the teacher said her family wanted to take control of the burial arrangements. He disagreed and went to court, arguing that he had lived with his wife as a family for six years and that they had two daughters together.

The court battle lasted about six months. His in-laws reportedly argued that he had not paid dowry, which they used as part of their case against him. The court eventually ruled in favour of the woman’s family.

His wife was buried by her relatives, and the teacher says he was also separated from his two daughters, who were five and two years old at the time.

He said he has not seen the children since then and was later told that their aunt had taken them to the United States.

Despite the painful experience, the teacher says he is gradually rebuilding his life with support from his parents. He said he hopes to recover from the loss and may eventually marry again.
