Marumo Gallants Drop a Bombshell That Shocks South African Football Fans

Marumo Gallants spokesperson Sello Nduna has dismissed rumours that the club is planning to merge with Bloemfontein Celtic and change its name. Speaking to SABC Sport’s Thabiso Mosia on Game On, a Radio 2000 sports show, Nduna clarified that such reports are baseless and the club has no plans to relinquish its status.

Nduna expressed surprise at the origin of the rumours, stating, “We saw those reports last week, and it caught us by surprise because we are not sure where they are coming from. Marumo Gallants’ status stays and remains, and we don’t have any intention whatsoever to join forces with anyone.”

The club, currently in their first season of the Betway Premiership after acquiring Moroka Swallows’ status, is focused on strengthening its brand. To reinforce this, Nduna highlighted the recent signing of three new players aimed at boosting the team’s performance.

Nduna also revealed that the club has entered into a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mangaung Metro Municipality for the use of facilities, including the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium. “This partnership is a clear indication that we are not going anywhere. We aim to create a competitive environment for visiting teams at the stadium while building our presence in Mangaung,” he said.

Nduna further assured supporters that team president Dr Abraham Sello remains committed to the club’s future. “Even if another team emerges in the city, Marumo Gallants Football Club will stay.”

With this statement, the club firmly debunked all speculation, reassuring fans of their dedication to growth and success in South African football.
