KP prisons chief orders speedy recruitment of jail warders
PESHAWAR – Inspector General Prisons Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rehan Gul Khattak on Thursday directed officials to expedite the recruitment process for jail warders and issue interview call letters to eligible candidates at the earliest.
He issued the directives while chairing a meeting to review recruitment against posts reserved for minorities and transgender persons.
DIG Headquarters Neelam Sultana Khattak, DIG Finance and Planning Hasmatullah, DIGs of the Peshawar, Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan regions, Deputy Director (Administration) and Assistant Director (Establishment) attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the scrutiny of candidates who had qualified in tests conducted through the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) under the minority and transgender quotas.

Rehan Gul Khattak directed the officers concerned to complete the scrutiny process and issue interview call letters to eligible candidates without delay. He also ordered that vacant jail warder posts in different regions be filled strictly in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations.
The IG stressed that the recruitment process should remain transparent, merit-based and time-bound, with equal opportunities for eligible candidates.
He said filling the vacant posts would help address manpower shortages and strengthen the administrative and security requirements of prisons across the province.

The IG Prisons directed the officers concerned to complete all remaining recruitment formalities promptly so that the vacant positions could be filled without unnecessary delay.
