Kaizer Chiefs New Striker Returns To Training With Amakhosi Stars
No Rest At Naturena As Chiefs Return To Training â Teuchert Spotted With Squad
Kaizer Chiefs have wasted little time during the international break, with the Amakhosi squad back on the training pitch as Fernando Da Cruz and his technical team continue preparations for the next phase of the 2026/27 season.
While many players around the world have been away representing their countries, Chiefs have used the break as an opportunity to maintain their fitness, sharpen their tactical work and prepare for what promises to be another demanding period of the campaign.
The latest training update has also attracted attention because Cedric Teuchert was reportedly part of the session, training alongside his teammates as the Glamour Boys continued their work at Naturena.
For supporters, seeing Teuchert involved is an encouraging development as Chiefs continue to assess their attacking options.
The German forward joined the club as part of Chiefs’ efforts to strengthen their squad, and his involvement in training will be closely followed by Amakhosi fans who are eager to see what he can bring to the team when competitive football resumes.
There is also little time for the coaching staff to relax.
Chiefs had played seven Betway Premiership matches before the international break, and the official club record shows that the team had collected 12 points from its opening six matches before facing Golden Arrows on September 20.
The break therefore provides Da Cruz with valuable time to work with the players who have remained at Naturena while also monitoring the condition of those returning from injury.
Chiefs previously suffered injury setbacks involving goalkeeper Brandon Petersen and attacker Wandile Duba. Petersen was ruled out for an estimated four to six weeks after sustaining a medial collateral ligament injury to his left knee, while Duba was expected to spend approximately two weeks recovering from a hip and groin problem.
That makes the current training period particularly important.
The club will want its available players to maintain their sharpness while injured members continue their rehabilitation under the medical team’s supervision.
The international break has also given Chiefs an opportunity to integrate players returning from national-team duty. Five Chiefs youngsters were part of the South African U20 squad that won the 2026 COSAFA U20 Championship in Mozambique, securing qualification for next year’s U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The youngsters’ return will add further depth to the club’s development structures.
For Da Cruz, however, the focus remains on the senior team and the challenges ahead.
Chiefs’ next league fixture is scheduled for October 17 against Stellenbosch, according to the club’s latest fixture information.
