Exodus At Wontumi FM/TV: Six Big Names Who Left After The Owner Imprisonment And Where They Are Now

A wave of high-profile departures has reshaped the media landscape in Kumasi, with six key presenters leaving Wontumi FM/TV following the imprisonment of the station’s owner. Originally compiled by Peace FM and reported by Yen.com.gh, the exodus highlights growing uncertainty surrounding the network’s long-term operations and editorial stability.

The departures occurred gradually as legal troubles engulfed the station’s founder. The six exiting personalities were central figures in Wontumi’s daily programming, and their sudden exit leaves a notable gap in its broadcast lineup. Media analysts attribute the resignations to career self-preservation, as presenters seek stable platforms amid the turmoil affecting the station’s executive management.

While some of the departed talents have already transitioned to rival media houses, others are currently pursuing new opportunities within the industry. The situation underscores the inherent vulnerability of media organizations whose financial and operational stability is tied closely to the personal fortunes or political standing of a single proprietor. When an owner faces criminal or legal sanctions, the resulting fallout frequently impacts staff retention, advertiser confidence, and station branding.

As Wontumi FM/TV attempts to stabilize its operations and protect its remaining workforce in a highly competitive market, audiences are keeping a close watch on where the station’s former stars will emerge next. The ongoing developments serve as a stark reminder of how rapidly legal crises can disrupt established media outlets and trigger shifts across regional broadcasting.
