5 Gum just turned chewed gum into fashion, and the story gets even wilder

5 Gum ADÉLABrand collaborations can get pretty creative, and this might be one of the most creative I've seen. The Mars-owned gum brand has teamed up with rising pop artist ADÉLA for a fashion collection made, in part, from actual pieces of gum she chewed during tour rehearsals.

The new 5 gum x ADÉLA Stimulating Style Collection turns those pieces of chewed gum into wearable art by preserving them in resin and incorporating them into custom performance pieces. It is definitely not the usual celebrity collaboration, and I think that is exactly what they were going for.

Created with ADÉLA's stylist and creative director Chris Horan, the collection includes a custom top and shorts decorated with 5 gum-wrapper fringe, along with a statement hat, chain belt, and custom microphone stand. The pieces were designed to fit ADÉLA's performance style while also playing into 5 gum's longtime focus on sensory experiences.

5 gum and ADÉLA are putting the pieces to work onstage first. ADÉLA debuted the collaboration during her Red Bottoms Tour on Sept. 21 in Nashville, with additional pieces appearing during stops in Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Phoenix.

Each item incorporates gum that ADÉLA chewed during tour rehearsals before it was preserved in resin and worked into the design. According to the brand, the concept was created around the five senses: sight, sound, scent, taste, and touch, with the goal of turning the energy of a live performance into something fans could eventually own.

"One of my favorite things about performing live is the connection you create with an audience," ADÉLA said in the announcement. She added that the collaboration gave her a way to preserve part of that performance experience and eventually pass it on to fans.

That last part is important because the collection will not stay in ADÉLA's wardrobe once the tour is over.

Following the tour appearances, the stage-worn items are scheduled to be auctioned on eBay from Oct. 14 through Oct. 24, 2026. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Save The Music Foundation, which supports music education programs for students, schools, and communities.

That gives the collaboration a second life beyond the tour. Fans are not just bidding on merchandise created around ADÉLA; they are getting a chance to own one of the actual pieces she wore during a live performance, complete with the gum-based details that made the collection possible in the first place.

For 5 gum, the project is also part of a broader history of campaigns centered on music, fashion, and sensory experiences. The brand has previously experimented with custom jewelry, music releases tied to vintage boomboxes, pop-up events, and other limited-edition collectibles.

The fashion collection is clearly the main attraction, but I also tried 5 gum for myself. The first thing that I loved was the hot pink packaging. Plus, the flavor had a noticeable sweet-and-sour combination that was extremely tasty. It's the type of gum that makes it very tempting to grab another piece as soon as the first one is gone.

Overall, this is such a fun idea and definitely a talking point. The collection takes something as familiar as chewing gum and turns it into something fans can actually see onstage and eventually own for themselves.
