Woman cancels wedding three days before the ceremony after finding out boyfriend is not who he claims to be

A Nigerian woman, Mary Uzugbo, has cancelled her wedding just three days before the ceremony.

Mary was scheduled to marry Okoro Peter on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

She said she made the difficult decision after discovering that Peter was not “who he claimed to be.”

Although Mary said she was deeply heartbroken, she explained that protecting her mental health was more important.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, September 30, she wrote:

“Hi everyone, I know you are all preparing for October 3, but I cancelled the wedding and all the marriage preparations myself because I found out that the man I was about to walk down the aisle with is not what he claims to be.

“I am heartbroken because I can never believe this would happen, but it’s well. I stand on God, and my mental health matters a lot before I lose it.”
