Cannabis Plant On OU Premises Creates Chaos
Sighting of a cannabis plant on the premises of Osmania University (OU) campus created chaos on Thursday. The half-grown, two-foot-tall cannabis plant was spotted by OU students who informed the management. The management, as well as students, were not sure whether the plant sprouted naturally or was planted intentionally by someone. Some of them said the plant may have sprouted from the seeds of some cannabis cigarettes.
“After the university management reported about the cannabis plant, we rushed to Angad Bazaar, a slum behind the Old Readers’ Quarters. By the time we reached, the plant was pulled out,” OU police station SI P. Karunakar said.
“So far, no case has been registered as we have not received any official complaint from the university management or the students. We are trying to identify the person who pulled the plant out,” Karunakar said.
Police are questioning the residents of Angad Bazaar to establish whether the plant was deliberately planted or grew accidentally, sources said.
