All Primary & Secondary Schools in Kenya to Close at Exactly This Date This Month For a Long Holiday
Currently, all public primary and secondary schools in Kenya, are busy preparing themselves for the national exams, that are expected to start this month. As per the 2026 academic calendar, all primary and secondary schools in Kenya, are expected to close on date 26 of October.
This December long holiday break, will mark the end of the 2026 academic year. All grade 6,9 and form four candidates, are also expected to sit for their national exams, as from this month, so that they can be tested and graded as per KNEC guidelines.
For the grade 6 candidates, they will start their KPSEA national exams, on date 24 of October, and end them on date 26. Grade 9 learners will them do their KJSEA national exams on date 26 to date 29 of October. Form Four candidates will then commence their KCSE national exams on date 5 of November, and end them on date 24 of the same month.
After, these national exams, all schools will remain closed until January, when all primary and secondary schools in Kenya, will reopen for the 2027 academic year. To all our candidates, I wish you success in your KNEC exams.
