Kuwait citizens can renew passports through Sahel App

The ministry has urged applicants to ensure that the photograph submitted with the application is recent and clearly shows their current appearance.

The photograph must have been taken within the previous six months, meet the approved specifications, and must not have been used for the applicant’s previous passport.

Citizens are also advised to check the validity of their passports, as well as their children’s passports, before planning travel and renew them well in advance to avoid problems during travel.

Citizens under the age of 21 are not eligible for the electronic renewal service.

They must instead visit a National Identity Centre accompanied by their guardian and provide the required documents.

The Ministry of Interior also reminded citizens that passport validity is linked to the Civil ID card for travel to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Citizens cannot travel to GCC countries using the Civil ID card if their passport has expired, even if the Civil ID itself remains valid

The service is part of Kuwait’s efforts to facilitate government procedures and allow citizens to complete passport renewal transactions electronically through the Sahel platform.
