SSNIT in Ghana honors 16 social insurance participants

In Accra, Ghana, the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) honored 16 employers, self-employed contributors, pensioners and partner organizations for their contribution to the social insurance system. The SSNIT Stakeholder Awards 2025 ceremony took place last month at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, MyJoyOnline reports.

The SSNIT Stakeholder Awards were launched in 2019. They recognize participants whose responsibility in fulfilling obligations, consistency and partnership have contributed to the sustainability and development of the social insurance system.

Honors for contributors and pensioners

Snyder Konadu Owusu received the Youngest Ambassador Award, while Elvis Agyemang was honored with the Loyal Contributor Award. Fidelia Aku Amevor received the Distinguished Service Award, and Nem Robert Kweku received the Trailblazer Self-Employed Pensioner Award.

The Lifetime Dedication Award was presented to Amadu Wali, whom SSNIT named the institution’s oldest living pensioner. The National Pensioners Association (NPA) received the Outstanding Growth Partner Award.

Awards for institutions

Zijin Golden Ridge Limited won the Ambassador of the Trust Award. Diamond Compliance awards in the small, medium and large institution categories went to Burkina Chamber of Commerce Ghana Agency, Flexi-Space Ltd and Ernest Chemists Ltd, respectively.

Scanship Ghana Limited, Hull Blyth (Ghana) Limited and the Church of Pentecost received the Excellence in Contribution Award. Rinacand Company Limited, Bishop Bowers School and SIC Insurance Company Ltd were honored with the Legacy Partnership Award.

SSNIT Deputy Director General Adam Sulley said the institution aims to make services more accessible, prompt and convenient. He mentioned the virtual branch, the Membership Value Programme, the co-location of services with partner banks and a telemedicine service.
