Ghanaian actress Vicky Zugah has paid a deeply personal tribute to her late colleague Beverly Afaglo on social media, ahead of the actress’ final funeral rites on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Writing publicly in the days leading up to the farewell ceremony, Zugah expressed raw emotion over a friendship she described as formative, admitting the goodbye had come far sooner than either of them could have anticipated.

“So we say final goodbye to you tomorrow? Beverly? This wasn’t the plan, norvi!” Zugah wrote.

Addressing her late friend directly in a message that resonated widely among fans and members of Ghana’s creative arts community.
Among the memories Vicky Zugah shared was a conversation in which Beverly had urged her to launch a podcast.
The encouragement had stayed with her, and she had since moved forward with the idea by acquiring a microphone, a detail that now carries considerable emotional weight.
“You told me to start a podcast. I got the microphone, sis. I got it!” she wrote.
Reflecting on advice she will no longer be able to share the outcome of with the person who gave it.
Zugah also spoke candidly about the grief of daily life without her friend, expressing hope that Beverly had finally found peace after what she described as a period of pain.
“I think about you every day. I miss you. I hope you are finally free from pain, Bev. I really hope so,” she added.

Beverly’s husband’s friends welcome him to Ghana
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Friends of Ghanaian musician Choirmaster gathered at the airport wearing matching black T-shirts bearing Beverly Afaglo’s photo.
Fellow Praye member Praye Tiatia was among those who turned up to welcome Choirmaster back to Ghana ahead of the burial.
