Sarah Augusta Akosua Otoo of the Greater Accra Region has been named the Most Outstanding Student of the 2026 Literacy Challenge.
Her recognition came at the end of the competition after she distinguished herself through her performance across the various stages of the contest.
As part of the award, Sarah received an additional GH¢5,000 cash prize in recognition of her outstanding performance.
Sarah was a member of the winning Greater Accra team alongside Neriah Gyamfi and Jenelle-Abrielle Ofori.
The Greater Accra team emerged as the overall winner of the 2026 Literacy Challenge after securing 88 points in the final round.
The team defeated the Northern Region, which finished as first runner-up with 85 points. Bono Region placed second runner-up with 68 points, while Volta Region finished fourth with 64 points.
Greater Accra’s victory earned the team a GH¢15,000 cash prize, the competition trophy, gifts and souvenirs from sponsors, as well as the bragging rights as champions of the 2026 Literacy Challenge.
The 2026 Literacy Challenge brought together talented young contestants from across the country to compete in a series of knowledge-based challenges.
The competition is organised by Channel One TV in partnership with Citi FM and sponsored by Deli, Tema Oil Refinery, SIC Insurance, Prospectus Ghana and Advocate Publishing.
