Accra, Sept. 5, GNA – The 14th Ghana Garden and Flower Show (GGFS) will spotlight the business, beauty and wider value of greening Ghana, with emphasis on enterprise, innovation, livelihoods, wellbeing and sustainable development.
The 11-day event, organised by Strategic Communications Africa Limited (Stratcomm Africa), will take place from September 11 to 21, 2026, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra.
Themed: “Green Means Business, Beauty and More,” the 2026 edition seeks to demonstrate that gardens, flowers, landscaping, horticulture and green spaces extend beyond aesthetic value to create jobs, support livelihoods and promote healthier communities.
A statement issued in Accra said, greenery also contributes to tourism and hospitality, enhances wellbeing and helps create cleaner, healthier and more liveable environments, particularly as Ghana’s cities and communities continue to urbanise.
It said the show would bring together local and international exhibitors, floriculture and horticulture industry players, entrepreneurs, real estate developers, policymakers, students, families and the general public to explore opportunities within the green economy.
The statement said visitors would have opportunities to explore innovative products and services, acquire practical skills, discover green business opportunities and experience creative expressions inspired by nature.
A major feature of the show will be the Horticulture Roundtable, which will bring together industry players and prospective entrants to discuss opportunities and challenges along the horticulture and floriculture value chains.
The Green to Riches Conference will also focus on green entrepreneurship and emerging business opportunities, particularly for young people, while masterclasses and demonstrations will provide hands-on learning in gardening, horticulture and landscaping.
It said for children, the Little Green Fingers and Children’s Playground would provide activities designed to nurture an appreciation for nature and environmental protection, while a food court would offer visitors opportunities to relax and enjoy refreshments.
The evening programme will include the Stewards of the Earth Awards Night, Music Night, Drama Night and Fashion in Bloom Show, celebrating the links between nature, culture, creativity and sustainable living.
Ms Esther A. N. Cobbah, Chief Executive Officer of Stratcomm Africa and Convener of the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement, said “green” represented far more than planting trees, as it also created opportunities for business, livelihoods, beauty, wellness and creativity.
She said the 2026 theme was intended to broaden the national conversation on greening and demonstrate the value created when nature was deliberately integrated into homes, businesses, communities, and cities.
Ms Cobbah said since its establishment in 2013, the Ghana Garden and Flower Show had provided a platform to inspire Ghanaians to appreciate, protect and invest in the country’s green environment.
She, therefore, invited businesses, entrepreneurs, young people, families, institutions and development partners to identify opportunities within the green economy through enterprise, creativity, education, beautification and the creation of healthier spaces for living and working.
Stratcomm Africa also called on government agencies, corporate organisations, businesses, development partners, educational institutions, civil society organisations and the public to participate in the 2026 show as exhibitors, sponsors, partners and visitors.
She said the event would reinforce greenery as an avenue for economic opportunity, environmental sustainability, beauty and wellbeing rather than mere decoration.
