Sedina Under House Arrest, Unwell…Hmm

Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu

Franklin Cudjoe has announced that Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is unwell and under house arrest. Hmm.

The announcement emanating from him after many questions about her whereabouts made interesting brooding. Given his links with government, there was no doubt about the authenticity of the disclosure.

In Ghana, under an NDC government, anything can happen. That is why many are doubting whether the lady will actually do time as the outcome of the adjudication spelt out. After all, her party is in government and under a reset ambience anything is possible.

Is that the kind of country we are building? Is that what the reset agenda is all about?

There is cause for concern when citizens start losing confidence in the integrity of state institutions and arbitrariness holds sway in the scheme of things.

Those managing the dust-throwing Sedina narrative have lost it already because the unfolding story compelled Ghanaians to read between the lines, and based on precedents, arrived at a poignant conclusion.

The plot is unambiguously laid out for the observant of NDC game-plans when such situations arise. Let her arrive in a wheelchair. As much as possible keep her away from the television cameras and when pushed to disclose her whereabouts say she is under house arrest and unwell. When pushed further state that she is in prison and have officials at the plenipotentiaries shut up. Period.

Sedina’s location as disclosed by Franklin comes on the heels of the Minority in Parliament’s announcement of embarking on an assignment to verify whether or not the convicted former CEO of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) is in prison or at home.

It has turned out that she is at home enjoying all the facilities government appointees are entitled to.

As for the ‘house arrest’ label, it is only part of the ruse to cover the freedom she is enjoying.

Having been convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction, it should take another court of equal status to order a house arrest in place of the four walls of a prison.

Here we are in a reset Ghana where the status quo has changed according to the dictates of the President.

The house arrest and her state of health are part of the grand design to eventually free her and, indeed, make nonsense of the conviction.

This is the reset template for fighting corruption. Nolle prosequi is loading and eventually like others before her, she would be cleared of any wrongdoing.

She too must enjoy the spoils of the NDC election victory.
