‘I Don’t Believe You’re Ready To Grow If You Don’t Work With Women’

Entertainment

Nollywood actor, Tobi Bakre, has condemned gender discrimination in the entertainment industry, describing women as powerful.

Naija News reports that Tobi, while speaking on the Mentality podcast hosted by Media Personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, said individuals who avoid collaborating with women are unprepared for professional growth.

The thespian stated women contribute significantly to the entertainment industry, noting that they played a major role in his career development.

Tobi emphasised that he has worked with women more than men and does not factor gender into his professional decisions.

According to the movie star, his focus in the industry has always been on productivity and creativity, adding that the women he has collaborated with shared the same work-driven approach and operated without ego.

He said, “If you don’t want to work with a woman, I don’t believe you’re ready to grow in life. Women are so powerful. Thank God for women. In my industry particularly, I have worked with women and I’ve worked more with women. I don’t see gender.

“For me, work is work because I came into the industry with the thirst to get stuff done. Let’s get the work done. Let’s shoot the shots. Let’s create. If I want to jump, how high can I jump?. A lot of the women I worked with welcomed that mentality with open arms. There was no ego.”
