The organisers of MasterChef Nigeria have officially unveiled the judges and sponsors for the maiden edition of the globally renowned cooking competition, setting the stage for what promises to be a transformative season for Nigeria’s culinary industry.

The unveiling ceremony was held at Red Dish Chronicles Culinary School in Gbagada, Lagos. The event also introduced Power Oil as the headline sponsor and Sonia as the tactical sponsor of the show.

MasterChef Nigeria, produced by Primedia Group, marks the country’s first adaptation of the international MasterChef franchise. The competition aims to celebrate the talent of home cooks across the country while spotlighting Nigeria’s rich culinary heritage.

Serving as co-judges are Chef Eros and Chef Stone, and they are expected to bring depth, expertise and high standards to the competition.

Chef Eros, founder of Cooking Jar, and Ìlè Eros restaurant in Lagos, is trained in both local and international culinary techniques, and is known for reimagining traditional Nigerian dishes through contemporary presentation while maintaining global standards. Beyond the kitchen, he is a culinary entrepreneur and mentor committed to promoting African cuisine internationally.

Chef Stone, a culinary entrepreneur and cookbook author, founded Red Dish Culinary School, with branches in Lagos and Abuja, where he trains aspiring chefs in technical skills and kitchen leadership. Known for excellence in flavour profiling and mentorship, he is expected to bring structured creativity and rigour to the judging panel.

Speaking at the event, organisers said the show would provide a platform to discover, mentor and elevate the next generation of Nigerian culinary stars.

Power Oil, described as a trusted household brand catering to both home cooks and professional chefs, will serve as the headline sponsor. Other supporting brands include Indomie, Malta Guinness, Sonia, Coca-Cola, and Flour Mills of Nigeria.

The winner of the inaugural season will receive a N73m grand prize and earn the title of Nigeria’s first-ever MasterChef. The show will air on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family, bringing the competition to millions of viewers across the continent.
