OmniBSIC Bank has marked a significant milestone with the successful staging of the 10th edition of its Quarterly Health Walk, cementing the initiative’s place as one of Ghana’s most enduring corporate wellness platforms since its launch as a post-pandemic internal staff programme.

Held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra on Saturday, February 22, 2026, the landmark edition brought together customers, corporate partners, staff, families, and members of the public for an early morning walk that began at 6:00 a.m. before participants converged at the stadium for a festival-style celebration featuring brand activations, games, live music, and networking. A Vendor Exhibition running alongside the walk showcased businesses across aviation, agriculture, fashion, healthcare, and food and beverage, providing commercial exposure for exhibitors while reinforcing the bank’s dual focus on wellness and small business support.

Managing Director Daniel Asiedu said the programme has delivered on its founding promise. “This initiative was designed to endure. From the outset, our commitment has been to embed wellness into our corporate culture for the long term. Ten editions later, the Health Walk has delivered on that vision, growing in scale and impact with each quarter,” he said.

Health Walk Committee Chairperson Akyaa Afreh Arhin Addo-Kufuor, who has overseen the programme’s expansion from an internal wellness intervention into a nationally recognised public event, said the 10th edition reflects deliberate planning and sustained commitment. “What began as a response to sedentary work patterns and lifestyle conditions was intentionally expanded to include customers and the wider public. Each edition builds on the last, and the 10th reflects our commitment to continuous improvement,” she said. She added that the bank intends to continue raising the bar across its core business, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and the Health Walk itself through the remainder of 2026.

The event was the latest in a series that has drawn progressively larger participation, with the 8th edition in June 2025 recording the programme’s highest turnout since inception and attracting over 150 vendor booths, a 40 percent surge from previous editions. Plans for the 10th edition to be made larger and more elaborate to mark the milestone were confirmed at the conclusion of the 9th edition.

Head of Direct Banking Yaa Kesewaa Nyanor used the occasion to introduce two products to patrons and market women in attendance: the Junior Saver Account, aimed at building savings habits among young people, and the Easy Trade Account, branded as “Dua Pa,” which enables traders to save directly from their daily sales.

OmniBSIC Bank, formed through the 2020 merger of OmniBank and Sahel Sahara Bank, reported profit after tax of GH¢281.8 million in the first half of 2025, a 221 percent year-on-year gain, with total assets expanding to GH¢16.49 billion as of June 30, 2025. The bank operates 41 business locations across Ghana and is currently ranked 29th on the Ghana Club 100 list by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).
