Nigerian street pop singer, Portable, has disclosed that he has received ₦40 million for agreeing to step into the ring with popular content creator, Carter Efe.
Naija News reports that the singer shared the update through a video posted on his Instagram page, where he told his followers that the payment was made after he confirmed his readiness for the boxing match.
According to him, the money was given simply for accepting to participate in the fight.
Portable also revealed that music executive Soso Soberekon and businessman E-Money have each pledged to reward him with ₦50 million and a car if he wins the match against Carter Efe.
He expressed confidence in his ability to defeat his opponent.
The boxing match was arranged after Soberekon announced a cash prize of ₦50 million for the winner, which drew attention online.
Portable said: “I have received N40 million from the organisers. They paid me the money just for accepting to fight Carter Efe. I’m very sure that I will defeat him.
“Soso Soberekon, and E-Money said they will also give me N50 million each with a car if I defeat him.”
Following the offer, Carter Efe accepted the challenge and confirmed his willingness to face the singer in the ring.
In a separate video shared on his own page, Carter Efe called on the organizers to set a date for the fight, showing that both parties are ready to proceed.
