Business Talk – PSG’s Wendy Myers on the impact of a strong Rand on South African markets – BusinessTech

In this Business Talk with Michael Avery interview, Wendy Myers, Head of Securities at PSG, unpacks what a strong Rand means for South African investors.

Myers boasts over two decades of experience working in the investment and finance industries, and has held multiple notable positions at leading companies.

Her first major role was as a Global Markets Finance Business Partner for Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) in 2004.

Myers remained at RMB for almost 11 years before working for three years at Asburton Investments as its Chief Operating Officer for FNB Stockbroking and Portfolio Management.

She would also spend just over four years as the Chief Operating Officer at FNB Wealth and Investments before assuming her current role at PSG in 2021.

Myers is also a member of the South African Institute of Stockbrokers, a position she has held since 2000, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town.

In this Business Talk interview, Myers outlines the main forces influencing the Rand’s strength and unpacks the relationship between the currency and the JSE.

Myers then explains the practical advantages of a strong Rand for South African investors.
