German-Ghanaian attacker Ragnar Ache delivered an outstanding performance for FC Koln in their German Bundesliga clash against Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.
The 27-year-old attacker, who joined Köln last summer, was handed a starting role and impressed throughout his 85 minutes on the pitch as the Billy Goats settled for a 2-2 draw in a highly competitive clash, held at the RheinEnergieSTADION.
Ache wasted little time in making his mark, firing the hosts into the lead in the 15th minute after being set up by Said El Mala. However, Hoffenheim responded before the break, with Turkish defender Ozan Kabak restoring parity for the visitors. The sides headed into halftime locked at 1-1 after an evenly matched first period.
The visitors came out stronger after the restart and turned the game on its head when Croatian forward Andrej KramariÄ found the back of the net to hand Hoffenheim the advantage.
But Köln refused to back down. Their persistence paid off in the 63rd minute when Germany youth international Said El Mala slotted home the equalizer, ensuring the spoils were shared at full time.
Ache’s energetic performance once again underlined his importance to Köln this season. The German-Ghanaian striker has been a consistent attacking threat in the ongoing campaign, registering four goals and four assists in 21 league appearances as he continues to establish himself as a key figure in the team’s frontline.
