Reacting to the development, Tega, who shared her appointment letter on Instagram, outlined her commitment.

She wrote, “My commitment is clear: Education, awareness, and accountability, zero tolerance for sexual harassment, protection and support for survivors, safe, and confidential reporting systems, and a culture where respect is non-negotiable.”

Recall that Tega gained fame in 2021 after her appearance in the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition of the BBNaija reality show.

In other news, AGN has lifted the suspension of Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, bringing an end to a disciplinary action that lasted over a year.

The AGN had placed an indefinite suspension on Abubakar in October 2024 over allegations of defamation against fellow actors and prominent Nigerians. Following a two-year investigation, a disciplinary panel found her culpable and barred her from participating in any guild-related activities and film productions.

However, the guild announced on Thursday that the suspension had been lifted.

The outgoing National President of AGN, Emeka Rollas, made the announcement during the inauguration of the guild’s new National Executive Council (NEC) held at the AGN national secretariat in Abuja.
