Accra, Jan 29, GNA-The Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC) has formally proposed the production of a high-impact documentary series titled “Intra-African Trade in Action” to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat.
It is part of efforts to deepen and practicalise the initiative’s long-standing focus on intra-African trade and integration.
The proposal, submitted by the AMC Secretariat, seeks to move the conversation around AfCFTA from policy rooms into lived African experience.
The documentary would follow 10 African finalists participating in Africa Monologue Challenge Season 3, scheduled to take place in Côte d’Ivoire between March and April 2026, as they document real trade processes across borders.
At the centre of the proposal is a practical case study of trade between Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, the host country, implemented under AfCFTA protocols.
“The documentary will also track reciprocal trade flows between Côte d’Ivoire and the other participating countries represented by the finalists, creating a multi-country, people-driven account of African trade in motion”.
Speaking on the issue, the AMC CEO and Co-Founder, Mawuko Kuadzi, confirmed that the proposal documents had been formally submitted to the AfCFTA Secretariat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ghana, with engagements ongoing with other participating African countries.
“This is a deliberate shift from advocacy to action,” Mawuko Kuadzi stated. “For years, Africans have heard about AfCFTA. What is missing is visibility and trust built through real examples. This documentary is designed to show Africans, step by step, how intra-African trade actually works when institutions align.”
Africa Monologue Challenge Season 3 will bring together 10 finalists from 10 African countries, each serving as a cultural ambassador of their home country.
The finalists will live together for one month in a Pan-African House in Côte d’Ivoire, engaging in cultural exchange, policy conversations, and field documentation across creative, economic, and social sectors.
The proposed documentary will be woven into AMC’s wider storytelling ecosystem, including broadcast content, digital releases, and partner platforms across Africa.

By involving the finalists directly in the documentation process, AMC aims to humanise AfCFTA through the voices of young Africans who will report back to their home countries and audiences across the continent.
Also commenting on the initiative, President of the African Chamber of Content Producers (ACCP) and Co-Founder of AMC, Dwomoh-Doyen Benjamin, described the proposal as part of a broader effort to build African content sovereignty.
“For Africa to truly integrate, Africans must understand Africa through African-made content,” Nana Dwomoh-Doyen said.
“This goes beyond a trade documentary. It is part of a larger process of reclaiming how Africa explains itself to itself, using credible stories, real data, and lived experience.”
The Africa Monologue Challenge, co-founded by MK Casting and the African Chamber of Content Producers, with support from the National Film Authority of Ghana, has evolved into one of Africa’s most visible cultural diplomacy platforms.
Previous editions were held in Ghana and Uganda, attracting partnerships with government institutions, diplomatic missions, and regional bodies.
With Season 3 in Côte d’Ivoire, AMC is positioning itself at the intersection of culture, youth leadership, trade, and policy, offering institutions like AfCFTA a platform to connect directly with citizens beyond formal channels.
The proposed Intra-African Trade in Action Documentary is expected to serve as a long-term educational and advocacy resource for governments, businesses, creatives, and young Africans seeking to understand the practical realities of cross-border trade on the continent.
