Ahwietieso (W/R), Jan. 28, GNA – A total of 1,320 delegates from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency of the Western Region are expected to vote in its presidential primaries on Saturday January 31, 2026.
The exercise would be held at the Fiaseman Senior High School in Bankyiem, and polls would be opening at 0700 hours and closing at 1400 hours.
Mr Ebenezer Atuahene, the constituency communication director, indicated this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said preparation for the exercise was far advanced.
He said to ensure delegates arrived early and cast their vote on time, arrangements had been made to transport them from the various electoral areas to the centre.
Mr Atuahene reminded delegates to come along with their voter’s identification cards, passport, driver’s license, or NPP party card, saying these would be used to verify their eligibility to vote.
He appealed to non-delegates to stay away from the voting centre, to ensure they maintained a peaceful atmosphere throughout the exercise.
He encouraged the delegates to try as much as possible to remain calm “even if someone provokes you on the election day, for the party’s sake.”
The five presidential aspirants: Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, have their agents fully represented in all their meetings with the police and the Election Commission to ensure a smooth and peaceful election, he added.
Mr Atuahene described the upcoming primaries as the party’s future election because that would enable them to pick its flagbearer for the Election 2028 and called on delegates to turn up in their numbers to cast their ballots.
