Angela Okorie Warns Parents Over Kissing Children On The Mouth

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has spoken out against parents who kiss their children’s mouths, saying the practice should stop.

Naija News reports that the actress shared her thoughts in an Instagram story, questioning why some parents ignore kissing children on the cheek and instead choose mouth-to-mouth contact.

She described the act as outdated and unnecessary, stressing that children should be protected from germs.

Angela explained that children are still young and do not need exposure to infections that adults may carry.

She also expressed concern about people who kiss both their parents and their children on the mouth, wondering why the cheek is no longer considered enough.

Her comments sparked reactions online, as she asked whether she was being old-fashioned or simply concerned about proper care for children.

“Stop kissing your kid’s mouth to mouth! Haaa. What happened to the cheek, Kwanu? They are kids; they don’t need your infected mouth, please. Kiss them on the cheek. People will kiss their mother’s mouth to mouth. Kiss your father’s mouth to mouth. Wetin happened to cheek. Oh Jesus. Una dey vex me for this app. Abi, am I old-fashioned? Why mouth-to-mouth kwanu?” she said.

This is not the first time such concerns have been raised by public figures.

When former OAP Toolz welcomed her child, she openly appealed to Nigerians not to kiss her baby.

In the same way, Mabel Makun, the ex-wife of comedian Ayo Makun, once questioned whether it was right for someone to kiss a baby that is not theirs.
