Ghanaian rap icon Michael Owusu Addo, known professionally as Sarkodie, has taken to X to celebrate after tickets for the UK edition of his flagship Rapperholic concert sold out in just one week.

The event, scheduled for March 6, 2026, saw all 5,272 seats at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London’s venue claimed ahead of the show.

Early presale tickets were launched on January 8, followed by general sales on January 9. Platforms such as AXS and See Tickets reported no availability by January 16.

Sarkodie expressed his excitement directly to fans, posting on X that the support from the UK has “gassed” him up and shared his appreciation for the international response ahead of the show.

The Evolution of Rapperholic

Since its inception in 2012, Rapperholic has grown into one of Ghana’s most celebrated annual music events, becoming a permanent date on the country’s entertainment calendar.

I didn’t mind rapping without getting paid – Sarkodie reflects on journey

The event takes its name from Sarkodie’s 2012 album and initially was synonymous with festive year-end celebrations and sold-out performances in Accra and beyond.

In 2025, Sarkodie shocked the country with the ‘Rapperholic: The Homecoming’ edition, shifting the concert from its traditional Accra venues to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on September 27.

Despite heavy rains on the night of the concert, thousands of fans remained undeterred, creating an electrifying atmosphere that further cemented the 2025 edition as one of the most memorable in the event’s history.

Today, Rapperholic has become a platform for showcasing not only Sarkodie’s own catalogue but also high-profile collaborations and performances from top artists, extending its influence across genres and regions.
