The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has announced plans to criminalise child fishing activities at the expense of schooling within the Ga State.
Speaking at the 2026 Kinka Blonya, an annual New Year children’s celebration on Thursday, January 1, 2026, the Ga Mantse said parents who allow or engage their children in fishing, once the by-law is passed, will be arrested and prosecuted.
