Sandema\u00a0(U\/E), Jan. 01, GNA \u2013 Pastor Andrew Kwame Mensah, the Head Pastor of the Church of Pentecost in\u00a0Sandema, has called on Christians to continue to\u00a0have\u00a0hope and trust in God for His blessings and favour in 2026.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to admonish all Christians that we should continue to\u00a0have\u00a0hope and trust in the Lord. For 2026, the Lord is going to do something great in our lives. We should expect the grace and glory of God, and prosperity in all aspects of our lives,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Pastor Mensah said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in\u00a0Sandema, prior to delivering his sermon at the December 31st night church service to usher in the New Year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Christians, most of whom were dressed in white apparels, thronged various church auditoriums at about\u00a02000\u00a0hours\u00a0GMT\u00a0in the\u00a0Sandema\u00a0township,\u00a0to thank God for seeing them through 2025.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the Church of Pentecost, amidst singing, dancing and praises to God, Pastor Mensah\u00a0said\u00a0even though 2026 may come with challenges, he\u00a0was assuring\u00a0Christians across the country that God would not abandon them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cIn spite of all challenges that may come in 2026, I want to assure Christians and the entire nation that we should expect something wonderful from our God,\u201d\u00a0he said.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
He further called for honesty, faithfulness,\u00a0diligence\u00a0and hard work among Ghanaians both in the government and private\u00a0sectors, and\u00a0stressed the need for Christians to focus on God\u2019s plan for them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Touching on deviant behaviours, especially substance abuse among the youth, Pastor Mensah advised\u00a0the youth\u00a0against\u00a0the use\u00a0of illicit\u00a0drugs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
He warned that such drugs\u00a0were\u00a0dangerous to their health,\u00a0emotions\u00a0and physical life,\u00a0adding that\u00a0there\u00a0was\u00a0no way anyone\u00a0could survive\u00a0or succeed in life with substance abuse.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0The Pastor also expressed concern about the misuse of social media among the\u00a0youth, and\u00a0noted that some youth created bad contents on social media just to attract viewers irrespective of the consequences.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
He noted that social media does not forget, and that one day, such bad contents could be used against them in their future endeavours saying, \u201cI\u00a0advise the youth to\u00a0use social media wisely.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMake sure you\u00a0post\u00a0good and life-transforming contents that will bring you promotion in life,\u201d the cleric admonished the youth.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some church members in\u00a0separate\u00a0interviews with the GNA, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and for blessing them with good health throughout 2025, and prayed for His guidance, protection, grace, prosperity and good health for themselves, their\u00a0families\u00a0and friends in 2026.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
