{"id":453952,"date":"2025-12-23T04:30:17","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T04:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2025\/12\/23\/ghana-to-launch-sea-transport-service-linking-togo-benin-and-nigeria\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T04:30:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T04:30:17","slug":"ghana-to-launch-sea-transport-service-linking-togo-benin-and-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2025\/12\/23\/ghana-to-launch-sea-transport-service-linking-togo-benin-and-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana to launch sea transport service linking Togo, Benin and Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<br><div id=\"article-text\">\n                       \n                        \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe has announced the imminent launch of a new marine transport service set to link Ghana to other West African coastal states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This service offers passengers and cargo a sea-based alternative to congested road travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV on Monday, the Saboba MP revealed that an investor has secured two large vessels to operate along the coast from Ghana through Togo and Benin to Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCurrently, I am happy as a Minister to say that we have had an investor who has brought in two ships, bigger vessels that will soon start operations from the coast through to Nigeria,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe will now be taking passengers and cargo from Ghana through Togo, Benin, to Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Minister said the new service is expected to significantly reduce pressure on key road networks, particularly the heavily used Volta corridor linking Ghana to Benin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe believe that will ease the congestion on the Volta route to Benin.
