\n\t\t\t\t\tAmerican rapper Wiz Khalifa is facing a possible nine month prison sentence in Romania over a marijuana related offence, though his legal team is seeking to overturn the ruling.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tRomania\u2019s Constan\u021ba Court of Appeal on Thursday, December 18, upheld an appeal filed by the DIICOT Constan\u021ba Territorial Service, a state prosecutor\u2019s office, which sought a custodial sentence for the rapper. The ruling replaces an earlier decision that imposed a fine of 3,000 lei, about 700 dollars.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tAccording to sources familiar with the case, the sentence is not yet final, as Wiz Khalifa\u2019s legal team has begun the process of appealing the decision in a bid to secure an alternative outcome.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tThe case stems from an incident in July 2024 when the rapper was arrested and briefly detained after performing at the Beach Please Festival in Costine\u0219ti. During the performance, he was seen smoking marijuana on stage while dancing to Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg\u2019s song \u201cThe Next Episode.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tRomanian authorities later charged him under the country\u2019s strict drug laws, which criminalise the possession and use of cannabis.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
