According to a police statement, a mob of about 30 individuals assaulted officers who were in the community conducting enquiries, seizing four service weapons and inflicting injuries on the officers.<\/p>\n<p>The Regional Police Commander, DCOP Francis Yiribaare, swiftly led a reinforcement team to Saawie, rescuing the injured officers and overseeing their evacuation for medical care.<\/p>\n<p>Police confirmed that all four weapons have since been retrieved, although efforts are still underway to recover two missing magazines.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects are expected to be arraigned before court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo of the officers who sustained varying degrees of injury have been treated and discharged, while one officer with a fractured arm has been referred to the Wa Regional Hospital for further medical attention,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>The Regional Police Command strongly condemned the attack, describing it as heinous and unacceptable.
