An 11-member Ministerial Oversight Committee has been inaugurated by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, to supervise Ghana\u2019s preparation and participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n

The ceremony took place at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, November 26. In his remarks, Mr. Debrah urged the committee to approach its mandate with integrity and total commitment to ensure effective coordination ahead of the tournament.<\/p>\n

He also encouraged members to look beyond football and explore wider opportunities the World Cup presents.<\/p>\n

Ghana secured qualification for the global showpiece with a narrow 1\u20130 victory over Comoros on Sunday, October 12, in Accra \u2014 sealing the Black Stars\u2019 fifth World Cup appearance since 2006.<\/p>\n

Inaugurating the committee, the Chief of Staff reiterated his call for diligence and integrity from all members.<\/p>\n

Below is the list of the Members of the Ministerial Oversight Committee for Ghana\u2019s 2026 World Cup participation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Stan Xoese Dogbe- Office of the President
2. \u2060Sports and Recreation. Hon Kofi Adams
3. Foreign Affairs- Hon Samuel O Ablakwa
4. Youth Development- Hon George Opare
5. \u2060Tourism and Culture. Hon Yusif Jajah (deputy minister)
6. Finance ministry. Ampem Nyarkoh (deputy minister)
7. \u2060GFA. Kurt Okraku (Chairman)
8. Deputy National Security \u2060Coordinator- Elizabeth Yankah
9. Former Footballer- Abedi Pele
10. \u2060Sports Ministry- Mrs Wilhelmina Asamoah (Chief Director)<\/p>\n

11. Yet to be decided<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the government has allocated GH\u00a2150 million to support the Black Stars\u2019 participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n

The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, announced this on Thursday, November 13, during the presentation of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament.<\/p>\n

According to Dr. Forson, the allocation underscores the government\u2019s commitment to sports development and national representation on the global stage. The funds are expected to support the Black Stars\u2019 preparations, logistics, and participation in the tournament, which the United States, Canada, and Mexico will jointly host.<\/p>\n
