\n\t\t\t\t\tTrinidadian-US rapper Nicki Minaj has delivered a powerful speech about the allegations of Christians being persecuted and killed in Nigeria.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\tThe mother of one teamed up with United Nations Ambassador Mike Waltz to speak at the United Nations conference in New York<\/strong>\u00a0on Tuesday, November 18.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\tNicki, who rocked a form-fitting black dress to the event, began her speech by confessing that she was “very nervous”\u00a0 before she thanked Mike Waltz and President Donald Trump for prioritizing the issue in Nigeria.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t“Thank you, Ambassador Waltz for this invitation. It is an honor to stand on this stage with you and the other speakers here today to shine a spotlight on the\u00a0deadly threat faced by thousands of Christians in Nigeria,<\/i> she said\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t“I would like to thank President Trump for prioritizing this issue and for his leadership on the global stage and calling for urgent action to defend Christians in Nigeria to combat extremism and to bring a stop to violence for those who simply want to exercise their natural right to freedom of religion or belief,”<\/i> she continued.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cMusic has taken me around the globe. I have seen how people no matter their language, culture or religion, come alive when they hear a song that touches their soul. Religious freedom means we all can sing our faith regardless of who we are, where we live and what we believe. But today, faith is under attack in way too many places.\u201d<\/i>\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\tThe Queens native explained that the religious persecution \u201cdemands urgent action\u201d<\/i> from the U.S. government, but she also made sure to clarify this isn\u2019t about \u201ctaking sides or dividing people,\u201d it\u2019s about \u201cuniting humanity.\u201d<\/i>\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cIn Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed. Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear constantly simply because of how they pray,\u201d she explained. \u201cSadly, this problem is not only a growing problem in Nigeria, but so many countries across the world and it demands urgent action. I want to be clear, protecting Christians in Nigeria is not about taking sides or dividing people. It is about uniting humanity.\u201d<\/i>\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\tIn between her statement,\u00a0Nicki\u00a0praised her fanbase, “The Barbz,” for support, first acknowledging, \u201cNigeria is a beautiful nation with lots of beautiful Barbz that I can’t wait to see.\u201d<\/i>\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t“Barbz, I know you’re somewhere listening. I love you so very much. You’ve been the ultimate light in my life and career for so long,” <\/i>she continued, before sending a strong message to anyone that has been opposed to her recent support of the\u00a0Trump\u00a0administration.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\tMinaj concluded: \u201cI want to make it clear once again, this isn\u2019t about taking sides. This is about standing up in the face of injustice. It\u2019s about what I\u2019ve always stood for my entire career and I will continue to stand for that for the rest of my life.\u201d<\/i>\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\tThe speech comes weeks after\u00a0she made an X post\u00a0lauding a Trump Truth Social post that claimed that Christianity was under an \u201cexistential threat\u201d in Nigeria, as he designated the country as a future addition to the list of Countries of Particular Concern.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cIf the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, \u2018guns-a-blazing,\u2019 to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,\u201d Trump said in a video on\u00a0Truth Social\u00a0shared Nov. 5.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
