\u2018Queen of Afrobeats\u2019 Tiwa Savage has revealed that she initially disliked Dorobucci, the Mavin Records hit that later became one of the biggest songs in the Nigerian music scene.<\/p>\n In an interview with NotJustOk, Tiwa Savage mentioned that her first impression of the song was far from positive. <\/p>\n She said when Don Jazzy, founder of Mavin Records, first played an early version of \u201cDorobucci,\u201d she thought it was a terrible song.<\/p>\n Tiwa Savage breaks silence on \u2018rift\u2019 with Davido<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t know if people know this, but Don Jazzy played \u2018Dorobucci\u2019 in the hotel when we were in Dubai for my wedding, and honestly, I thought it was such a crap song,\u201d she confessed.<\/p>\n According to the \u2018Afrobeats queen,\u2019 her opinion changed after she returned to Nigeria and heard the finished version in the studio. She said the transformation of the song shocked her, and she could not believe how good it had become.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I got back to Nigeria, and I got to the studio, and I heard the song that I heard him play in Dubai, I was flabbergasted. I was so angry, like, I don\u2019t know, because this had happened with \u2018Eminado\u2019 too, and I did not like it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n I was discouraged \u2013 Tiwa Savage on being banned and rejected<\/p>\n The Nigerian singer admitted she was hesitant to record her verse, and said she was the last Mavin artiste to contribute to the track while her colleagues were already excited about it.<\/p>\n \u201cI was the last person to record my verse, because I was looking at everybody and I was like, \u2018Do you guys really like this?\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Tiwa Savage, looking back on the song\u2019s success, praised Don Jazzy\u2019s creativity and ability to craft hits that connect with fans.<\/p>\n \u201cWe all know what happened to the record.
