The statement highlighted that Annim earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>He also holds a Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, obtained in 2002 and 1999, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this appointment, Annim was the Government Statistician and Head of the Ghana Statistical Service. He also served as Head of the Department of Economics and Deputy Director of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy at the University of Cape Coast, where he has been a faculty member since 2002.<\/p>\n<p>Annim previously co-chaired the United Nations High-Level Group on Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building (UN-HLG PCCB) and chaired the Executive Board and the Board of the Partnership in Statistics for Development in the 21st Century (PARIS21).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanaweb.com\/imagelib\/pics\/973\/97395417.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Samuel Kobina Annim is the immediate past Government Statistician of Ghana Professor Samuel Kobina Annim has been appointed Director of the Africa Centre for Statistics (ACS) at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) at the D-1 level.
